| The PIME Missionaries have made a difference in the lives of thousands of needy and hurting souls the world over.
This is the work of the PIME Missionaries – but they can’t do it alone. In the Amazon rainforest of Brazil, just south of the equator, there are many Catholic families served by Fr. Robert Pallichankudy, PIME. They live in small homes scattered widely over hundreds of miles. Most of them do not have vehicles. They walk to local chapels to receive the sacraments, usually only once a month. Yes, once a month they walk through the jungle, sometimes for many miles, to receive Jesus in the Eucharist. Would most of us walk through a dark forest - known to be inhabited by jaguars – to attend Mass? Maybe not. But this is the only way they can live out their faith in community, and they do it joyfully. They are truly happy because they know the Love of Christ, brought to them through the ministry of a PIME missionary. Pictured are a man and his sister who live in a secluded area of the jungle. Just before this photo was taken, they had walked over a mile, in the darkness, to visit a chapel and hear Mass. The humble simplicity of their lives is apparent. But can you see the joy on their faces? Perhaps you have a felt a similar joy because of your faith. Has this faith made a difference in your life? Let it make a difference in the lives of others.
The photos on this page tell the story of two people whose lives were touched by the PIME Missionaries. Will you be a part of the story?
